These beautiful images come from Canadian artist Stephen Orlando, who has always been fascinated by movement and human activity. He creates these images by using a special set of paddles with LED lights, and long exposure photography. The results are simply magical.
The trick behind Stephen’s amazing photos is the long exposure shutter opening: the lens captures whatever light is most visible, and the path of the paddles is shown while the kayak itself disappears. I love how you can imagine in your mind the precise movements the kayaker must have been making, just from looking at the lights. Very cool!
